A member asked:

What is more likely to produce odor issues? a colostomy or an ileostomy?

Dr. James Lin answered

Either, but...: The odor from either has its uniqueness reflecting what foods are consumed and how often the stomal care is given, and how long the bag is changed to discard the collected urine or stool, and of course, personal odor. So, there would be no definite answer to this Q. To decide which one is needed, a comprehensive counseling is required. So, see and talk with doc, and seek counseling so to decide.
