Period heavy: clots: Near the end of life's fourth decade, ovaries require more stimulation to produce an egg, which also creates higher estrogen levels, which make the lining of the uterus much thicker. This leads to more bleeding when estrogen falls prior to the period, with clots which create more pain when passed. Ask your gyn provider about low does oral bcp's, which stop estrogen production by the ovary.
