No: Being on birth control for a long time is not dangerous, in fact studies have shown being on birth control for 5 continuous years can decrease risk of ovarian cancer. Being on birth control pills for a prolonged time will not effect fertility either. Regardless of how long someone has been on the pill, it can take 1-12 months for ovulation to restart after you go off it.
