A member asked:

Was told by a dr that b/c i have a family history of thyroid conditions that i should avoid any form of hormonal birth control. is this true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: No there is no reason to avoid hormonal birth control with a family history of thyroid conditions. Even if you personally had a thyroid condition, there would be no reason not to use hormonal birth control. On the other hand, family history of strokes and blood clots would make you higher risk for using hormonal birth control
