A member asked:

Quick question. how do you quickly clean a blood pressure cuff? would you use alcohol, chlorhexidine, or bleach?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below : Blood pressure cuffs are listed as low-risk and non-critical items for disinfection. That said, recent research has found them to be key in the spread of MRSA (an antibiotic-resistant bacteria) and C-diff in hospitals. Alcohol and bleach-based disinfectant cleaning solutions have been most commonly used to clean BP cuffs. I see no reason why chlorhexidine could not be used as well.
