Pinched nerve likely: Pain that travels down the length of one's leg from hip to ankle is commonly from a nerve being compress in the lower lumbar spine. A thorough examination will help cinch the diagnosis. Xrays and an MRI may also be helpful to delineate the exact location and degree of injury. If the symptoms persist despite standard nonoperative treatment (rest, nsaids, physical therapy).
