A member asked:

I have had a varicocelectomy sub inguinal, my urologist has stated it was a success and no concerns, yet i can still feel some enlarged veins when i touch the area with my finger, my question is what is it that i am feeling? there is no pain.

Dr. James Lin answered

Okay,....: Varicocelectomy is not to remove all dilated veins but to interrupt the draining vein so to eliminate undue back-pressure. So, what you palpate is soft but considered as normal after a successful varicocelectomy. Congrats. More? Ask your doctor. All the best to health and post-varicocelectomy recovery...
