"Minipill": The "minipill" is not as effective for pregnancy protection, and can affect the menstrual cycle as described. Over time, estrogen production from the ovaries can cause a thickening of the uterine lining, which can cause some cramping and bleeding (brown discharge) as it degenerates in places. Get a serum HCG to make certain you are not pregnant.
