Luck or immunity: If a guy is exposed to Herpes type 1 cold sores, but had already caught Herpes type 1 in the past, he won't catch it again. He will get his own cold sores, in his own time, unrelated to other Herpes type 1 cold sores that he kisses. Many people caught Herpes type 1 in childhood (we see lots of kids with cold sores). The other possibility is that he is lucky and just hasn't caught it yet.

CONFUSED. Ive been told by a doctor that if you have hsv1 (cold sores) you can NOT pass it to other sites on your body or be reinfected by someone who has hsv1 anywhere on your body, but Ive also been told the opposite, that you CAN. Which is true?
