There are many: The list is as long as your arm. In general kidney disease is something your were born with-congenital, or was acquired later in life. Hypertension and diabetes are the two systemic diseases that most affect the kidneys. Infections, stones, obstructions, trauma, and inflammations--glomerulonephritis are also common causes of kidney disease.
