Most likely Dx: Gout would lead the list of possible diagnoses if there is no history of trauma. If you cannot see your primary care physician today, go to Urgent Care for blood test and X-rays and treatment. Gout is a problem with uric acid accumulation that causes toe pain so severe that the pressure of a bedsheet on the toe hurts.
