SEVERE: abdominal pain should always be evaluated by a Health Professional! Self treatment is usually a bad idea. There are preparations OTC that "slow down" diarrhea but they are NOT indicated when there is PAIN (By definition pain is not "simple" diarrhea. Seek in person help! Dr Z

Loperamide /Imodium: This is one good medicine that is available over the counter.If you are not well after taking 1 or 2 doses(take this 3-4 hours apart), then you need to see a doctor to have a medical check up to find the cause.
