?: how do you know it's not something else? and how far in pregnancy are you? gas pains , as you described, won't affect your back and chest, it may be your stomach, kindly see your doctor, meanwhile, antacid or ranitidine (zantac) may help, read the labels carefully though, wish you a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby

Gas pains?: I'm not really sure what you mean by gas pains. There are other possible causes, like reflux which is often made worse in pregnancy. Also gall stones can flare up and cause problems in pregnancy. For pain relief, it is safe to use paracetamol in all stages of pregnancy. If you think you might have reflux, you could try ranitidine (Zantac) - also safe. Maybe good to check in with midwife/GP.
