See a dermatologist: You can't get rid of acne scars at home. Acne scars can be reduced with laser resurfacing or dermabrasion (not to be confused with microdermabrasion). And both of those procedures are done by dermatologist.

Can only Improve: You cannot "erase" scars. Poor scars can be improved through the following methods:
1) scar massage
2) silicone sheeting (a kind of silicone tape you where over the scar)
3) steroid injections
4) laser treatment (helps remove coloring)
5) scar revision (removing the scar and starting over).
Consult with a plastic surgeon to find out which combination of these would best work for you.

Do nothing: There is no home remedy to remove acne scars. In fact once you have a scar (no matter from what cause), you will have it for life. As plastic surgeons we are hiding and making them not as noticeable. There is no way to remove the scar completely.

Healing scars: When our bodies sustain an injury, the immediate response is inflammation (red, hot, tender swelling). This is the body increasing the blood flow and bringing healing factors to the area and also the veins expand to carry bad stuff away. As healing occurs, new tissues fill in that are different than normal and less elastic. This is a scar. Over time it will fade in color but always be there.
