140/90: Generally a BP of 140/90 in anyone over 18 on more than one occasion is considered too high. If it is 120-139/80-89 that indicates prehypertension. If the level is hypertensive and remains there after lifestyle changes then drug therapy is indicated. Prehypertension indicates the need to more frequent monitoring plus lifestyle changes.
