Short period: Bleeding can occur because of late ovulation (if ovulation were delayed until 14 days before you experienced "a few hours" of bleeding. Stress at home or at work, etc., can delay ovulation, and when that occurs, there is a sudden drop in estrogen, which can cause brief spotting or actual bleeding. See your gyn for a serum HCG test to make certain you are not pregnant.
