A member asked:

Do healthy individuals have some (within normal range as per laboratory) beta 2 microglobulin in their blood?or is any value, even if w/in range, bad? normal range per lab is <2.52 and my value was 1.74.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That’s fine. : The absolute presence or absence of a substance in the body is not what defines normality. As long as you’re result is within the range that the laboratory defined as normal, then that result is normal, and not suggestive in and of itself of any pathologic process.
