Please advise: your providing prescriber. If you have not incorported CBT or another effective form of therapy into your treatment - I would do so. May need to go back up on your citalopram dose in the meantime. Take care.

Anxiety meds.: There can be a ramping up of anxiety symptoms if you try to wean off a medication like Citalopram too quickly (I don't know how quickly you're waning down, or if your attempt is being coordinated by your doctor). If you're weaning off properly and your anxiety is returning, it may mean that you'd need a replacement medication.

Citalopram: Better not try to wean it on your own, as you mentioned your anxiety worsens if you do so. If there is a problem with the side effects of the drug, your prescriber is better suited to adjust the dose or find an alternative that fits your condition and doesn't interfere with other medications you are on, best wishes
