Prostatitis. : Prostatitis can be a rather stubborn infection, often requiring upwards of one month or more of antibiotics. Therefore, it is not unusual to not achieve relief within one week. That being said, it would be wise during this time of treatment to stay in close contact with your prescribing physician.

Rx for prostatitis: Most prostatitis is "nonspecific", i.e. not due to any known infection. Antibiotics like levofloxacin usually are tried but often have no effect. Burning sensation in urethra usually isn't a prostatitis symptom. Broad spectrum antibiotics like levo can trigger yeast infection, which might be a concern if the burning started since you began treatment. Check back with your doctor.
