Nail lines: Yes, horizontal nail lines may be related to scarlet fever. These lines are called beau's lines and they happen any time something life fever, infection, medications or other causes interrupt the normal growth of the nail. These will eventually grow out. There are other conditions that can cause nail plate changes like bacterial or fungal infections. Please show your baby to a dermatologist.
