Forgive my frankness: Food choices aren't the key to health. Even something as central to "pop wisdom" as red meat causing cancer fails in a majority of real studies. Studies of food choices and cancer have yielded such variable results I've concluded there's nothing to it at all. The health benefits of "healthy eating" mostly vanish when you control for folks' fitness, non-drinking, non-smoking and so forth.
