It may be infection: Your left eye is likely infected and would require an antibiotic treatment. Eye drops or an antibiotic cream is what you need. This means going to see a doctor for a prescription, unless you are lucky to find an antibiotic(Eye drops) over the counter. There is one called "triple antibiotic" which works well. Wash your hands after you touch the left eye.
