A member asked:

Took ulipristal acetate on the 18 june, period come on the 23 june and currently late for 15 days. is this normal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It may happen: Ella (ulipristal acetate), Plan B, and other emergency contraception pills can alter the menstrual bleeding for the cycle in which Ella was taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, because Ella works most of the time, but not all of the time. Cycles should return to usual, after 1-2 cycles after taking Ella or Plan B.
