Neither is best.: Either one is only safe to be used in conjunction with a condom, diaphragm or other barrier method to prevent the bulk of the semen from presenting to the cervix. The spermicide is helpful only in killing off the few sperm who may escape the blockage of the other measures. Most diaphragms are marketed with a cream, so most likely is the better form.
