A member asked:

I take plaquenil and my doctor said if i get distortions it could be a side effect and i've got many scotomas. should i be worried or is it nothing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stop plaquenil: When you have been taking 2 200 mg tabs a day for 10 years and weigh less than 130 pounds, your risk of getting the ocular complication of plaquenil gets higher. If you have scotomas, stop the plaquenil immediately, call your family doc to let him know, and go see your ophthalmologist ASAP.
