A member asked:

I am experiencing stomach cramps (quality: cramping in lower abdomen) .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nondiagnostic: These are nonspecific but could indicate intestinal tract irritability from food intolerance or an early viral intestinal tract infection which causes diarrhea but resolves in a few days. If the cramps are severe and are accompanied by vomiting, inability to have a bowel movement or abdominal distension, you should be examined by a physician. Avoid ice cold liquids and harsh roughage in your diet.
