Interesting question: Lyme disease has wide distribution in the USA but I am not aware of it being prevalent in the UK. I have been in practice for 50 years and have treated many patients who are world travelers without any of them coming back from the UK with Lyme disease. You might want to call the local medical society in your region if you are still concerned. I have traveled through out England without any concern

Low risk: Lyme disease exists in the UK but the risks are 20-50 times lower than in the most affected areas in Eastern US and Scandinavia. If you get a large skin rash after a tick bite, see your doctor and it can be treated with antibiotics. High grass increases the risk of tick bites, but most reports of Lyme disease in the UK seem to come from national parks or other large forests.
