I have been breastfeeding and just read that retinol in otc creams are not good. what can happen to my baby and should i throw away all my milk?

General rules: The creams or lotions that you apply to your skin are generally fine during breast feeding as long as they are not applied to the feeding sites.. Their medication content does not enter the blood in a detectable amount that would influence the milk. This includes retinol. see Medications & Mothers Milk, Hale,T.15th ed.p1100.
