Mucous changes: The cervical mucous changes during ovulation and before the menstrual cycle. We usually reserve the term “mucous plug” for pregnant women who are experiencing cervical dilation before labor. If you feel your discharge is not normal for what you normally experience before a menstrual cycle then evaluation is likely needed
