Unclear: I think you are asking how long one has to take birth control pills before you can rely on it without back up birth control. Inside the package insertion on all pills is a chart that provides guidance. If you start the pills immediately after your period then you can rely on them. If you have started at some other time then 2 weeks is a good general rule.
