How long before amoxicillan starts to work on a gum infection. it's been 2 days since i started taking it?

Usually 1-2 days: Antibiotics usually provoke the desired result quickly. Improvement in: Inflammation, redness, pain, swelling and fever tends to begin in the first day. Sometimes antibiotics cannot reach the sites of infection due to abscess formation, I would consider seeing your PCP in the next (1-2) days if you do not see any improvement. You may need better anaerobe coverage, in Canada: Clavulin= Amox+Clavul.

Should be starting: An oral antibiotic can take between 48-72 hours to start its effectiveness so you are about there. Keep going and see how you do
