Well...: An actual period, yes, by definition. However, the reason you see so many recommendations to get pregnancy test when there is irregular uterine/vaginal bleeding is because when an embryo implants in the uterus, there can be bleeding as well ("implantation bleeding"). If there is any doubt, getting a urine pregnancy test is almost always a good idea. Also good to make contraception appt if needed=)
