Yes: Hitting oneself in the eye with a hammer could cause a variety of damage ranging from mild/self-limited all the way to severe damage to the eye or the bones surrounding the eye. Medical evaluation is recommended for concerns of hammer-induced eye injury. X-ray or CT scan of eye/sinus may be needed. Eye protection/safety goggles and proper hammer safety technique is also recommended.
