Not abnormal: based upon the difficulty of the extraction and degree of infection, one week with some residual discomfort is not abnormal. If it does not lessen with time, revisit the person who removed the tooth for assessment

Be patient: You had surgery. Will take time to heal. Should be a little better every day. Should be almost unnoticeable in another week or so. If still a problem, call your treating Dentist/Oral Surgeon.
