Won't work: Dettol or other antiseptics won't work and would be irritating. There are several effective treatments available over-the-counter; look on the pharmacy shelves near the athlete's foot medications, or ask the pharmacist.

Antifungal Cream: Jock Itch is caused by fungal infection due to excessive perspiration.Dettol will not cure it.You can buy over the counter antifungal cream and use it locally twice a day.Cream like clotrimazole,will work.
