Needs to be checked: Pain in both thumbs and popping cracking on touching suggest that there is inflammation and cause may be arthritis or something else if there is no history of trauma.It should be checked by your family doctor to make the proper diagnosis anr appropriate treatment.In the mean while you can take over the counter pain med like motrin if you are not allergic and do not have stomach ulcer
