Infection likely: There might be infection as belly button is an excellent place for the bacteria or fungi to hide there, being warm, dark and has nutrients for the bugs (dead skin) so I would advise to see your doctor for assessment and management

OMPHALITIS: or inflammation of the umbilicus (belly button) is usally due to poor HYGIENE and you need to GENTLY swab out the area and apply a antibacterial cream or ointment (Over the Counter preparations are OK) Hope this is helpful Dr Z
