A member asked:

I had a total hysreterectomy about 2,weeks ago and have pain still with a brown foul discharge is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe (not): A hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure. It takes time to heal. Some pain 2 weeks out is expected. Its also can be normal to have some brown, slightly foul discharge during the healing process. On the other hand, these symptoms can represent an infection at vaginal site of surgery so even though this can be normal, its best to mention it to your surgeon for guidance. Best wishes!
