Allergic reaction: Sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something. Often times this can be from pet dander or pollen. The 'jelly' feeling is created from swelling of the conjunctiva or the thin layer of skin over the top of the eye. I would advise taking an OTC antihistamine, ibuprofen, and using cool compresses over the eye. If no improvement, consider prescription for prednisone or similar medication
