Lesion: It sounds like you have a cyst on the glossopharyngeal nerve. It is not possible to tell why you have it from your story - it could be from a recent infection, it could be scar tissue ... or a cyst that is compressing the nerve sheath. You need to have a physical exam by your doctor, and then you may need other tests afterwards depending on what she sees.
