Last period: The BHCG number alone can not be used to determine much information without knowing how far long you are by either your last menstrual period or the gestational age by sonogram. At a level of above 2000 typically one would expect to see a fetus via a sonogram. You can schedule a visit with your doctor to have this done. One can not determine if twins are present from a hormone level
