Narcotics: not sure how old is the child, but try not to take in a child under 4 yrs of age. If one does give it for severe pain or post-surgery, you could try 1/2 tab first every 8 hrs to see if any reactions, too drowsy, etc. Use sparingly and only nightly if needed.
