Hi i take concerta 54mg sometimes i miss it about once a month. can i cut it in half at lunch time if i have forgotten it so i only have a half dose.

Do not cut in half: Concerta is a specialized extended release preparation. If you try to cut it in half it will lose that property and you will not get predictably a half dose.

No: This med is designed around a specialized timed release mechanism. The first few ours the coat dissolves and builds up your med level. That opens laser drilled holes that allow timed release of the med. If you cut it in half you get a rush of the med that is in/out within a few hours. If you miss a dose, just skip it.

No: Concerta is a special capsule that releases the med gradually-you cannot cut it
