Blunt eye trauma 8 years ago,optic neuritis 6 yrs ago,brain mri clear,vision never fully returned,vision deteriorated since,doc wants new brain mri?

Optic neuritis: I assume that the ophthalmologist wants to document the extent of optic nerve damage and or inflammation because of your progressive visual deterioration. My guess is that if there is evidence of ongoing active inflammation some treatment will be tried.
