Mucus: Clear mucus discharge from the vagina doesn't necessarily signify an infection and mucus discharge from the rectum in the absence of other symptoms isn't serious. If you have profuse vaginal discharge or if it's cheesy or foul smelling with itch or burning, a vaginal infection is likely and an examination by your gynecologist is indicated for diagnosis and treatment.
