A member asked:

I have been on methotrexate for a couple of months now. for a week, i have had pale stools. is this related and should i bother my doc about it?

How pale?: Only if they aren't brown / tan, but more the colors of clay, should you trouble your physician. Stool color varies tremendously in health, and most internet sites that say "light stools" are either subscientific or are referring to the very strange-colored stools of biliary obstruction, which would make you jaundiced.

Methotrexate: Yes. methotrexate can cause liver/pancreas disease which may affect stool. Also check for thrush/ candida infection if you are having pain on swallowing/ throat pain . Call today and get blood work .
