Don't be nervous: If you are not satisfied with the DR's descriptions, have another discussion with the Dr before you do it. There are various approaches to AK. PDT is certainly a good one, briefly annoying, but effective. You might ask to be presented with a few alternatives so you can choose one yourself. None of them are dangerous.
