HIGH Blood pressure: That is high Blood pressure and your husband should see a doctor and get a clinical evaluation and treatment, which certainly may include Medications as well as a discussion on TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes). Best wishes.

Diagnosing high BP: One high BP measurement does not mean one has hypertension. Relax, & check it again when you are feeling comfortable & have been sitting quietly for at least 5 minutes. If the blood pressure is consistently elevated then treatment is needed. If treatment has already been started & the BP remains high, then adjustment of the medicines is appropriate. Many patients require more than one medicine.
