Low dose Birth Cont: The treatment for irregular periods is individualy appropriate BCP's low dose. This can be done for 3-4 cycles to correct hormonal balance. Stop BCP and see if cycles regulate themselves. If not restart Low dose OCPs. Irregular menses is seen in PCOD. I.e. Poycystic Ovarian disease.

2nd opinion: It is time to see another GYN MD and obtain a 2nd opinion of your condition. At the very least if no cause is found you can discuss the oral contraceptive as a way to "regulate" your cycle.
