In theory, there may: be a reaction since some metronidazole may be absorbed into the bloodstream through the vaginal mucosa. When it occurs, it's unpleasant to be sure. Since alcohol consumption isn't vital to your health, you'd be wise to avoid it until about 3 days after you've finished your course of Metrogel Vaginal. Dr. Anne

No problem: This isn't a problem. Even alcohol's interaction with oral metronidazole is a medical myth, long ago debunked. It doesn't happen. For 40 years in prescribing oral metronidazole several times a day, we have never warned patients about alcohol. Out of habit, many doctors and clinics warn to not take both together, but it's truly not a problem. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12022894

No: Alcohol is a poison and it never did anybody any good, ever. If you are only 20 years old, it is illegal for you to drink alcohol. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
